Trail Schedule So Far:

Tuesday September 22nd - Fish Lake with Stephan:

A 3-hour fitness-level hike meant to keep you active. Join Stephan for this great hike with beautiful views of Fish Lake, Bonneville Lakes and the surrounding mountain ranges. We will hike a well-worn trail through the trees. There will be a steady but gentle climb to the plateau above the treeline. About 12 km with an elevation gain of about 400 m.

Tuesday, September 22nd - Research Forest with Larry:

A 2-hour leisure-level hike designed to allow you to socialize and take a leisurely pace. The Gunnar Nilsson Mickey Lammers Research Forest is one of Whitehorse's greatest resources for hiking (or biking or skiing). There is a diversity of landscapes to explore. We will begin on Lammers Loop (a mountain biking trail) and connect with the Forest Science Trail. These trails are easy walking through beautiful mixed forest (pine, spruce, aspen). The trails take us through the Yukon government's Agricultural Research station (interesting projects going on) and eventually to some large fields where horses are often grazing. After visiting with the horses, we go off trail to a little known beautiful lookout over the Takhini River. Then we return on a trail through a climate change research area. A really interesting and lovely hike!

Wednesday, September 23rd - Canyon City with Stephan:

A 3-hour fitness-level hike meant to keep you active. We will hike to Miles Canyon and then continue to Canyon City. We will alternate between the Red, Yellow and Green Trails, extending it from Canyon City along the Yukon River to the junction with the Log Trail. This trail is about 10 km.

Wednesday, September 23rd - Whistlebend River Loop with Lis

A leisure-level hike meant to allow you to socialize and take a leisurely pace on your hike. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 hour 17 min to complete. Enjoy this beautiful trail with mossy forest, views of the marshy wetlands and the Yukon River.

Thursday, September 24th - Whistlebend Perimeter Trail with Acasea

An easy leisure-level walk suitable for all levels. Meant to allow you to socialize and take the pace most comfortable to the group. This route is just under an hour. It has views of the greenbelts in Whistlebend and a small man-made pond frequented by many local species of birds. This walk is completely free!

Thursday, September 24th - Hospital Ridge and Long Lake Loop with Chad

A 2-hour fitness-level hike meant to keep you active. The Hospital Ridge and Long Lake Ridge Loop is a lovely trail within city limits. You begin in sight of the city and then enter quiet forested sheltered areas criss-crossed by hilly trails. Great views and lots of nature to explore.
